“Torah and Wine: How the Torah is like a Good Cabernet”
Saturday, December 5 at 7:00 pm - Temple Beth Abraham in Nashua
NASHUA - The life long learning committee at Temple Beth Abraham presents “Torah and Wine: How the Torah is like a Good Cabernet,” featuring guest scholar and wine connoisseur David Bernat, PhD. The event will be held on a Saturday evening at December 5 at 7:00 pm.
The congregation invites people to sit back and relax with good friends. Taste different wines paired with matching appetizers and desserts while Dr. Bernat delights you with his knowledge of different wines. Dr. Bernat will instruct us in the art of wine tasting and discuss Biblical text that metaphorically or literally relates to wine. He will also explore the history of wine-making in ancient and modern Israel.
David Bernat received his BA from the Jewish Theological Seminary and his PhD in Biblical Studies from Brandeis University. He is co-editor of Religion and Violence: The Biblical Heritage, and author of the recently published Sign of the Covenant: Circumcision in the Priestly Traditions. Dr. Bernat is currently an adjunct assistant professor of Bible at Hebrew College and Associate Hillel Director at Wellesley College.
The cost of the event is $10.00 per person. Please RSVP by November 24th to the synagogue office at 883-8184. Or you can send an email to office@tba.mv.com
Temple Beth Abraham is located at 4 Raymond Street in Nashua.
