Portsmouth hosts The Boston New England Air Show is this weekend

Monday, August 23, 2010

The Boston-Portsmouth Air Show is this weekend at the Portsmouth International Airport at Pease in New Hampshire and this year the United Sates Navy Blue Angels return!

"We are delighted to be able to bring the world's most popular air show demonstration team to the people of New England," said Steve Wade, CEO, of the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire. "We are already seeing a tremendous amount of energy and excitement within upper New England as we discuss what is sure to be one of New England's top family activities during 2010, said Michael Kaufman, CEO of the Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America. "The Blue Angels will headline what will be a sensational lineup of the top air show acts on the circuit."

Already confirmed for the 2010 show in addition to the Blue Angels is New Hampshire resident and national aerobatic champion Rob Holland as well as a demonstration from the WWII era B-25 "Panchito". Many additional civilian and military performers as well as a full slate of static displays, great food and family entertainment will also be available for show attendees.

The Boston-Portsmouth Air Show was reformed from the former Pease Air Show, which was historically held at Pease International Tradeport and the New Hampshire ANG Base every other year. Beginning in 2010 the Boston-Portsmouth Air Show has been designed to be a first-class, large scale aviation event. The Boston-Portsmouth Air Show supports two of New England's finest community organizations. The Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scouts of America serves more than 18,000 youths annually. The Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire is a private, non-profit, family and consumer run organization representing over 5,000 New Hampshire residents with acquired brain disorders and stroke.

The young and old alike are guaranteed to delight in the flight and aircraft displays. This year The Boston-Portsmouth Air Show hosts "Pull for a Cure," a fundraising event featuring a giant tug-of-war between your team and a huge aircraft weighing more than 98,000 pounds. Also at the show this year is The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill serving up to 2,500 brats an hour to hungry event-goers with all proceeds benefiting the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire.

The Boston-Portsmouth Air Show is sure to be the perfect end-of-summer family event so I will be heading to the seacoast this weekend with my kids for one last great summer memory before school starts!
