On this quiet day, you can almost hear the mud calling your name. The final preparations are underway for Adventure 5K, at Liquid Planet Water Park & Zip Lines, Candia, NH, this Saturday, June 1, 2013! Adventure 5K was named "best adventure race," in by The Best of New Hampshire. This year, organizers expect to see more than 1,000 runners and more than 2,400 spectators on race day!

Adventure 5K is a 5K run with some added flair! As if running isn't sport enough, participants must push themselves through additional challenges, including:

♦ The Briar Patch: You do know what a briar patch is, right? Yup, we've got one!

♦ The Monster: You know that big green wall down in Boston? Might feel like you're trying to climb it.

♦ Slinky: Jump, crawl, repeat. Yup, you're a human slinky now!

♦ Black Out: You aren't scared of the dark are you? Get in there!

♦ The Burrows: It might be a tight squeeze, but it shouldn't hurt.

♦ Road Rage: Get out your aggression with knees up!

♦ The Swamp: Pretend you're at the beach ...

♦ Land Slide: You might get a little muddy tackling this one ...

♦ Gravity Defier: Climb baby climb! Might be a little slippery.

♦ The Plank: How's your balance? Might want to work on that.

♦ Black Widow: She sure does leave a mess

♦ Monkey Trap: Don't let your foot slip; it could be problematic

♦ Eat Dirt: It might be easier if you just go ahead and give in to eating a little dirt

♦ Lumber Jack: Do we really need to say more?

NH.com will have music, food and beverages sales, and more waiting for runners at the end of the course. So, plan on coming for the run, and staying for some fun!

Spectators and cheerleaders are more than welcome! Watch the race, free of charge at Liquid Planet Water Park, 446 Raymond Road, Candia, NH from 8am-2:30pm. Kids can stay cool at the slip & slide in the children's area; remember to bring a bathing suit & change of clothes for the little ones! The Liquid Planet Zip Lines will be open on race day, so while you are waiting for your favorite runner to cross the finish line, check out Escape Velocity, Liquid Planet's newest and most exciting thrill ride! Liquid Planet mini golf will also be open for you're putting pleasure!

Interested in running?

There are still openings in the 11:40am, 12pm, and 12:20pm race-waves. Day of event registration is $100 per person CASH ONLY. Teams of five (5) or more are $85 per person, cash only. On race day we cannot accept credit cards or checks. Please register in person at least one hour prior to preferred race time start. Wave times do sell out.

I'm registered excited and ready any advice?

Visit NH.com/5K for guidelines on what to wear, what to bring, a map of the race course and more. Some general attire guidelines: Wear lightweight fast-drying clothing, gloves for gripping ropes, and sneakers. We do not recommend you wear jewelry. We also ask that you please NOT wear shoes with anything other than a rubber sole as they will tear up the course and you might hurt yourself or others. Be sure to check the official site prior to taking off to watch or participate so that you know you are prepared correctly.

Adventure 5K was created by NH.com in partnership with CrossFit TUFF. A portion of Adventure 5K proceeds will once again benefit Moore*Mart to help support their mission to provide U.S. soldiers with care packages as they serve our country. Participants have the ability to give an additional monetary donation at the time of registration.
