Monday, February 15, 2010
Merrimack – United Way of Greater Nashua received a $142,850 pledge recently from Anheuser-Busch and its employees representing ongoing support for the 2009-2010 campaign. The donation came in two parts – $55,300 in pledges from brewery employees and $87,552 from the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, together totaling more than $142,850.
“Anheuser-Busch employees care deeply about this community and have always given generously to their friends and neighbors through the United Way,” said Rob Haas, general manager, Anheuser-Busch Merrimack brewery. As our community and nation continue to struggle in a sluggish economy, now more than ever our neighbors are in need of the vital services the United Way provides.”
The donations will be used to support local health and human service programs through several local nonprofit agencies. Don Mattise, president, United Way of Greater Nashua accepted the donation on behalf of United Way from brewery employees at the facility in Merrimack. The contribution was presented on behalf of the Merrimack brewery’s dedicated employees and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation.
