NHBR.com and NH.com Close Internet Awards Contest, Launch BOB Awards
After nine exciting years of following the dynamic Web development and business community in New Hampshire, NH.com and NHBR.com have announced the conclusion of the NH Internet Awards contest.
This does not mean an end to NH.com and NHBR.com’s commitment to showcasing the amazing technological strides New Hampshire businesses are making – but simply acknowledges the culmination of what we consider to be a unique era in New Hampshire business history.
When the NH Internet Awards began, 10 years ago now, many businesses did not yet have Web sites – they were certainly not the ubiquitous business tools they are today. It made sense to honor businesses progressive enough to invest in the Web separately from or recognition of them in other sectors.
Today most businesses have Web sites. And their use of technology to communicate with customers has expanded beyond the Web as well. To acknowledge this change, we ended the Internet Awards to make room for new showcases, including the recently announced NHBR.com Best of Business (BOB) Awards.
The BOB Awards will be the first of their kind in the Granite State. Businesspeople -- NHBR readers -- will be asked to vote for Best of Business in New Hampshire in a wide range of categories, from best accounting firm and best employment agency to the best business lunch and best venue to hold a business event. (And there will be plenty more in-between.) The result will be a chance to single out the companies that provide the best business-to-business products and services in New Hampshire.
Thank you for all of your participation in the Internet Awards over the years. This site will remain an archive of that participation, and we think, a snapshot of unique history of Web development in New Hampshire.
Sincerely,
Tricia Baker-Schmitt, Event Manager, McLean Communications Sharron McCarthy, President, McLean Communications Jeff Feingold , Editor, New Hampshire Business Review Ernesto Burden, Vice President Digital Media, The Telegraph and McLean Communications
