On Tuesday, April 16th, 2013, Jeff Bauman woke up with no legs. A mere 30 hours prior, he was surrounded by revelry at the 2013 Boston Marathon. Stronger, written with six-time New York Times bestselling co-writer Bret Witter (Dewey, Until I Say Goodbye, Until Tuesday), details Bauman’s experience that day, as well as his incredibly inspirational recovery. It is a moving story about the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity and one man’s personal journey to prove that he, the city of Boston, and the entire country are stronger than any terrorists could ever be.
Shortly after the explosion, Bauman became the face of the attack when a photo of him in a wheelchair being pushed by a man in a cowboy hat, with blackened clothing, a smoke-smeared face, and his severely injured legs, was shown by press outlets throughout the world.
