Event:
Creating Websites with WordPress: A Bootcamp for Non-techies
Learn WordPress and Rule the World Wide Web
Popular WordPress Training Class Returns to the Adult Learning Center
For the second time The Adult Learning Center of Nashua is sponsoring “Creating Websites with WordPress: A Bootcamp for Non-Techies”, a unique training class aimed at students who wish to create their own websites but lack the extensive technical skills previously required to do that. The instructor for the class is Jonathan May, an e-marketing consultant and experienced WordPress trainer with Amherst, NH-based YourPresenceOnTheWeb.com.
“WordPress has reached a tipping point in mass adoption for several reasons”, says Mr. May. “First, the software is free to use. Unlike the template-based tools marketed on TV, it has the power and flexibility to create just about any type of website imaginable. And, most importantly, people with basic computer skills but who are not trained as programmers can learn the fundamentals of WordPress in a short amount of time.”
This 5-week “bootcamp” is focused on teaching students how to configure WordPress through a series of hands-on exercises. Each student will build a working website from the ground up, and learn how to alter the physical layout and appearance of pages, load text, images and other content into the site, and select and install software components that further extend the capabilities of the core software.
Students do not need to provide their own computers -- they will use computers provided in the computer lab.
