Empty Bowls 2014
Empty Bowls is an international arts service project that we host at Merrimack High School. Ceramic bowls are made by people in our community and sold at a community supper of soup, bread and beverages. The money raised from the sale of the bowls goes directly back to feeding the hungry in Merrimack. We have collected over $3000 at our Empty Bowls suppers which we give to Merrimack food pantries and food banks. The National Art Honor Society and the Art Department at Merrimack High School have hosted Empty Bowls for 5 years. March 26th, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm in the high school caf will be our 6th biennial Empty Bowls. We run after-school workshops for the Merrimack community to make clay bowls for the event. We have all of our National Art Honor Society students and most of our art students make bowls. We will have close to 400 bowls available for a charitable donation of $13. We regularly sell out of our bowls therefore many people have the opportunity to try your delicious soup, bread, beverages or other meaningful contribution. The evening is filled with the delicious smell and taste of a variety of soups. Music plays while people enjoy food, art and warm, friendly conversation. Everyone looks forward to Empty Bowls and it has become a lovely tradition in the town of Merrimack.
We are dedicated to providing accurate event information, however, we advise calling ahead to confirm dates, times, location, and other details.
