Earth Day Festival
As a part of its 100th Anniversary Celebration, the New Hampshire Audubon is hosting an Earth Day Festival at the Massabesic Audubon Center in Auburn, NH. This family event will feature an indoor/outdoor scavenger hunt, a bird banding demonstration, games and recycled crafts, and live music and dance. Earth-friendly businesses such as Red Manse Farm, Little Cabin Crafts and Pawtuckaway Beekeepers Association will be on hand to interact with guests. The Student Conservation Association NH Corps will display local students’ service learning projects under the big tent behind the Audubon Center. Back by popular demand are the “build your own birdhouse” kits. Kits can be purchased for $5 and assembled with some assistance from volunteer carpenters. For those guests who plan to have lunch at the festival, food can be purchased from A Market Natural Foods. A highlight of the day will be an appearance by Ranger Rick, well-known mascot of the National Wildlife Federation, who will be available for photo opportunities. One of the most popular events will be the live animal presentations that are scheduled throughout the day. The cost of attending this educational and fun-filled festival is $5 for individual and $15 for families.
