UNH - Rally to Save Our Wildcats
Will the University of New Hampshire lose their beloved mascot? Wildcats are at risk, and UNH students are taking a stand to save Wild E. Cat and Gnarlz.
The University of New Hampshire’s Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) is joining with the National Wildlife Federation, the nation’s oldest conservation organization, in an unprecedented pep rally to save the real-life wildcat mascots cherished by students and alumni. The Coalition has told students on campus: “Join with us to save Wild E. Cat: bring your school spirit, we’ll provide the rest.”
Both of the University’s wildcat mascots, Wild E. Cat and Gnarlz, will be present for photos and games. There will be several short speeches given about this topic, including wildlife biologist Eric Orff who will talk directly about the Canada lynx, the real-life mascot; and Peter Wilkinson, a UNH student that has been involved in SEAC and planning for a sustainable campus. Don't let us become the UNH Squirrels-- Please join us in this fun event!
