Fremont, located in central Rockingham County, is celebrating 250 years
1764 - 2014.
Fremont was incorporated as "Poplin" in 1764. The town name was changed to Fremont on July 8th 1854. The origin of the town's name is in honor of the late John Charles Fremont. He was a prominent American West Pathfinder and first Republican Presidential Candidate in 1856. The first settlement was circa 1730.

Entertainment includes Spectacular Fireworks Show, Three Live Musical Concerts, American Revolutionary, Civil War, and Military Enactments, Fremont RC Flyers - Demonstrations and Simulator, Timberlane Band featuring 50 players, Fremont’s own Dot Wiggin and formally “The Shaggs” female music group Tribute, Food, Craft, and other vendors, children’s games plus much more.
