The India Association of New Hampshire (IANH) Youth Group will be hosting a charity dance on March 29th, 2014 from 7-10pm at Alpine Grove in Hollis. In the past, funds raised have been given to The Haiti Relief Fund, the Bhutanese Refugees, the Cure Duchenne foundation, Clean Energy and Water for All, and Cure with Hope. Last year's Nach Night beat all previous records to raise over $4,250 for the Nashua/Manchester Soup Kitchens and Rebecca Tabat's , Cure with Hope. The latter is a locally founded charity that focuses on brightening the hospital stays of children with cancer. Youth Group Vice President Anjana Mangalat, from Nashua North, and Rucha Gor from Nashua South, worked hard to get both schools' National Honor Societies to allow attendance at Nach Night as a credit opportunity. The group is thankful to the following businesses/patrons who sponsored Nach Night 2013: Rashda's Beauty Salon, India Palace, Global Flavors, Cafe India, Valentino's Pizza, and Mohan Punjabi of 7/11. Venu Rao and Dr Gauthami Rao, Prithvi Kumar, Kala Kumar, Dr Tej and Vandana Dhakar. The dance was a big success with over 250 people in attendance. DJs Schmitty and Truffula provided fun and upbeat music to dance to. With a mix of modern pop and Bollywood hits, there was something for everyone. It was very enjoyable and everyone is looking forward to the next Nach Night! This year, all proceeds will be going towards the Nashua/Manchester Soup Kitchens and the Solar Power Project in Anaikatti, India. This project focuses on installing PV Solar Electric systems in hostels in India. These hostels house children from poverty stricken families. The solar powered systems let these students have more time to study at night, and power fans to ward off mosquitos during the summer nights. This year, IANH has partnered with the Rotary Club of Hollis-Brookline to raise money for this project. The Rotary Club has pledged to donate $2.50 for every dollar raised. This means that every dollar IANH raises for the Solar Power Project is worth $3.50. Because of this opportunity, the IANH youth group is determined to make this year their most successful yet! Please support our cause by attending the event. The dance is for ages 14 and older. Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 before. Attire must be Indian or semi-formal. Donations are also accepted.
