Poetry Society of NH - Martha Carlson-Bradley and Lee Sharkey
The Poetry Society of New Hampshire meets at Gibson's Bookstore on the third Wednesday of every month. Our headliners this month are Martha Carlson-Bradley, and Lee Sharkey. An open mic follows their readings (arrive early to ensure a spot on the sign-up sheet). All are welcome, newcomers are encouraged! Lee Sharkey is the author of the recently released Calendars of Fire (Tupelo, 2013), A Darker, Sweeter String (Off the Grid, 2008), and eight earlier full-length poetry collections and chapbooks. Her work has appeared recently in Consequence, Crazyhorse, FIELD, Kenyon Review, Nimrod, The Pinch, The Seattle Review and other literary journals. She is the recipient of the Abraham Sutzkever Centennial Translation Prize (2013), the Maine Arts Commission’s Fellowship in Literary Arts (2010), and the Rainmaker Award in Poetry (1995). Since 2003 she has co-edited the Beloit Poetry Journal.
We are dedicated to providing accurate event information, however, we advise calling ahead to confirm dates, times, location, and other details.
