Overview
Olde Chester was a 200-square-mile area that encompased the land now known as Hooksett, Candia, Raymond, Auburn, and a portion of Derryfield (Manchester).

In 1793 Chester's post office was founded. Since postage wasn't used until 1847, Edmund Webster, the town's first postmaster, had to write postage amounts with his signature on each piece of mail.

Today Chester's land area is roughly 26 square miles and a population of 4,500.
