NH’s own “Witch Way” gets ready to make you scream
The film is being categorized as horror, thriller, mystery and suspense – a great combination that would likely be successful this fall among the other traditional spookiness of New England and its witchcraft history.
Written and directed by Mary Wicca, Witch Way is the story of a group of college friends who set out to solve a hundred year old mystery of the Clifton Witch. Apparently, the Clifton Witch disappeared suddenly from her estate and left a deadly curse. The group befriends the girl, Danielle, who currently owns the Clifton Estate, in hopes to gain access to the secrets and solve the century-old mystery.
To me, the plot sounds a little familiar: a little Blair Witch meets Paranormal Activity, if you will. But like all good psychological thrillers and murder mysteries, I’m willing to bet that Witch Way will be filled with suspense, twists and a lot of blood-curdling screaming.
I’m truly interested to find out which locations the story was filmed in. In one interview the reporter mentions the Witch Way set is outside of Concord but the photos on Facebook seem a little nondescriptive: a library and woods. And I’m curious if there is such a street as Witch Way. I know there’s a Witch Lane in Plaistow, but could this film be based on a real roadway or was a fake sign put in place?
The trailer for the movie was just released and be sure to check it out along with the Witch Way Web site and Facebook page. It looks like when the movie is released it will play at various Flagship and other local theaters along the east coast.
