NH’s Granny D dies at age 100
Staff photo by COREY PERRINE Grannie D seen with her signature hat Wednesday, Jan. 28 in Dublin.
On Tuesday, March 9, New Hampshire lost one of its most well known centenarians, Doris “Granny D” Haddock, a native of Laconia and recent resident of Dublin. You’ll probably remember Granny D, at the age of 89 she walked across the country to raise awareness of the need for campaign finance reform. Her compassion and tenacity was also well documented in the HBO movie titled “Run Granny Run.”
It doesn’t matter whether or not you agree with Granny D’s political views, what’s important is that she was a strong, dedicated woman who set the standard high and made her home state proud.
