Warm up New Hampshire - It's time to get cheesy!
Get ready to break out grandma's safely-guarded, secret recipe and stir up a gooey batch of the ultimate comfort food... Macaroni and cheese!
On January 15th, NH's dairy farmers will be hosting New Hampshire's first Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off at the Holiday Inn in Concord. The event begins at 2:00pm.
Granite State dairy farmers are on a quest to find those who can turn this classic pasta dish into a culinary masterpiece. The competition is open to all who think their dish is worthy of the prestigious grand champion award and the title of "New Hampshire's best macaroni and cheese!"
Contestants can enter into one of three categories:
- Best NH made mac and cheese, made with 100% milk and cheese from NH dairy producers
- Best traditional mac and cheese (any product)
- Most creative/exotic (any product)
Entries will be judged on texture, taste and overall cheesiness. Each category will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The winner of each category will move on for their chance to be the 2011 grand champion.
For hungry, non-competitor tasters, tickets will be sold at the door for $12. Indulge in cheesy splendor then cast your vote for the "People's Choice award." Scorecards will be handed out to mark your favorites.
Get ready to fill your belly with this classic dish to warm away those snow-shoveling blues!
