Things to do in New Hampshire this weekend

Friday, April 20, 2012

I took a look at the weather for this weekend. The good news is, Saturday should be sunny and warm with some afternoon thundershowers. The bad news is its going to rain on Sunday. We need that rain so I'm not complaining. Besides, there are lots of indoor things to do in New Hampshire this weekend!

For the Kids

Whether you're looking for something to do with the kids during school vacation or summer break, there are plenty of kid-friendly attractions in NH. From the planetarium to amusement parks and everything in between. Here's a list of some of our favorite things to do with your children.

Historic

New Hampshire is not only unique and beautiful but it's full of diverse culture and a rich history. It's home to famous actors, presidents and poets. Explore the past and find out what role the future plays for these historic homes and sites. Visit the Robert Frost Farm and get to know poet Robert Frost or take a peek into the life of President Franklin Pierce at his historic birthplace.

NH Covered Bridges

Are you in the mood for drive in the country? New Hampshire has many covered bridges scattered throughout the state. Some of these bridges are a couple hundred years old. Some of the covered bridges are not safe to drive on, but visitors can walk on them.

Scenic

Sit back, relax and enjoy New Hampshire's beautiful and scenic sites. From mountain top views and railroad rides to aquatic life and nature hikes, NH has it all. Check out where the Old Man of the Mountain once lived and discover hidden caves and mines.

Science and Nature

Explore New Hampshire's beautiful wildlife, forests, lakes, ponds and ocean at a variety of interactive and educational facilities. Perfect for kids and adults, many of these centers have daily and weekly programs and most are inexpensive. Many have walking, hiking and biking trails too. Perfect for getting outside in the spring

Galleries and Museums

Arts and culture are such a large and dynamic part of the success and uniqueness of New Hampshire. Explore local galleries and museums and take in breathtaking arts and exhibits and take the opportunity to learn something new. A visit to a local museum or art gallery is a great way to spend a rainy April afternoon.
