Warm Up To Fall With Returning Popular Soup Event
Monday, September 24, 2012
The fall is here and somehow the air already seems cooler, crisper. Anyone wearing long sleeves or sweatshirts yet? Have you retired your sandals for the season?
The NH.com fall season page is back at NH.com/Fall-Fun! Check out this great resource for fall favorites in New Hampshire, including pumpkin picking, haunted houses, corn mazes, hayrides, fall recipes, Halloween tips, and more!
As the cooler weather settles in, we start contemplating warmth and comfort. This first fall week, the Lake Sunapee Chowder Challenge may be just the answer!
On Tuesday, September 25th, now in its 12th year the Chowder Challenge offers tempting and delicious chowder sampling. Local restaurants and chowder enthusiasts from every corner of town offer up their best recipes in a competition for the coveted Best Chowder title.
Admission is $10 per person. New to the challenge this year is an adjacent artisan crafts festival including wares from Charlie's Woodworking, Design by Design, Design by Design, Cleverly Created, Sew There!, Quilted bags by Sandy, Howln Good Kettle Corn & Lemonade, Sanctuary Dairy Farm Ice Cream, and more!
The Lake Sunapee Chowder Challenge is produced by and benefits the Sunapee Parent Teacher Organization. This year, the organization intends to focus the majority of funds earned by the Chowder Challenge toward enhancing literacy. Among other efforts, the organization is hoping to implement iPads and/or Kindles into classrooms, and purchase books for each of the schools' almost 200 children to read and keep over the summer.
Warm up to fall with a spoonful of a great New England favorite! Enjoy with 12th annual Lake Sunapee Chowder Challenge!
