Bear Brook State Park encompasses 10,000 acres of land, seven ponds, a large marsh, bogs, summits and open ridges. Many of the trails were built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, as were the two summer camps at the eastern end of the park. Most of Bear Brook's 40 miles of trails are open for mountain bikers and equestrians as well as hikers. Trail maps are available at the park. In addition, the park boasts a wonderful bathing beach, picnic areas, and museums dedicated to Family Camping, the Civilian Conservation Corps and Snowmobiling. No pets.
