Mine Falls Park

Address: Whipple Street, Nashua, NH
Phone: (603) 594-3411

The name "Mine Falls" derives from the 1700s, when low quality lead was supposedly mined from the island below the falls. In the early 1800s the potential of the Nashua River to drive the wheels of the mills was recognized. The park encompases 325 acres of land along the Nashua River and invites hikers, joggers and families to enjoy the natural world. Several walking trails loop through the park between the river and an old canal, which used to power Nashua's mills. You'll find a surprising array of wildlife, especially birds, and an old mill pond, gatehouse and dam. (There are unprotected edges near the dam - keep an eye, and a hand, on any small children.)Mine Falls Park RulesPark hours are 6 AM to 10 PM.Do: * Carry out all trash * Keep pets on leash * Pick up pet waste * Stay on established trails * Get a permit from the Nashua Park & Rec.
