Located near Cornish, the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site consists of 150 acres, including the house, gardens, and studios of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The famous U.S. sculptor used this facility as his summer home from 1885 to 1897, and as his permanent home from 1900 until his death 1907. The National Historic Site has something for just about everyone and is open year-round. For the hiker, there are two trails that wind through the park's natural area; for the art lover, there are three exhibition galleries and a sculpting studio; the historian can visit "Aspet" (his house), or a stable with antique carriages. There are also various special events and programs throughout the year.
