The Audubon Center includes a wonderful gift shop and educational displays and can provide you with information about all 30 Audubon sanctuaries in New Hampshire as well as maps for the trails out back. Upstairs they've built a wonderful observation room (they call it the aerie) that lets you feel like a bird yourself. But don't end your visit at the house! The longest of three trails around the site leads through various habitats and eventually down to Great Turkey Pond (which does look remarkably like a turkey from above). A boardwalk observation platform allows a wide view of the pond and surrounding marsh. Or, if you have little ones or little time, just amble through the woods on the short nature walk and stop to visit the two resident owls.
