There are two routes up West Rattlesnake the very easy Bridle Path Trail from Route 113 and the much-less-traveled, somewhat steeper Pasture Trail from Pinehurst Road. West Rattlesnake is beloved for the incredible views it offers after comparatively little climbing. Even small children can reach these ledges and enjoy a picnic on top of the world. (But keep them away from the edge!) You may choose to continue along the Ridge Trail to East Rattlesnake, or take a detour from the Pasture Trail to explore Five-Finger Point, a small peninsula, shaped vaguely like a hand, which allows you to walk close to the water, wade along the secluded beaches and nibble on wild blueberries.
