Local Favor LLC to expanding into Rockingham County next month.

In early November a Keene Entrepreneur began introducing the concept of a universal, buy local rewards card to Monadnock Region Retailers & Shoppers. In less than two months 17 retailers have signed on to accept The Local Favor NH Savings Card. “The fist 500 cards that we printed up have almost all been placed into circulation, and we have another order placed for the next batch of 500” explained Keith Clark, Owner, Entrepreneur.

Next month Keith and his business partner Dennis (who lives in Rye Beach) will begin duplicating the process in Rockingham County.

“Earlier this year, I gained a greater understanding of just how important it is to support locally owned, independent businesses. Like many of my friends, I used to frequent the big box stores with little thought of the economic implications of my shopping decisions.” said Keith. Keith’s new company Local Favor LLC can be found online at www.localfavor.com “Today I understand that local retailers do much more to make our region a unique place to live than I ever realized. Typically, they bring better, higher paying jobs, a greater commitment to charitable causes, and larger service/ selection to the marketplace. Not to mention they multiply my spending into the local economy because they, in turn, do more business with other local independents.” Keith elaborated.

The Local Favor NH Savings Card is a universal rewards card, or community savings card that offers discounts and incentives that are determined by the participating retailer.

“We spoke to quite a few business owners and really tried to put every suggestion and recommendation into practice before we launched” Explained Dennis.

“Many retailers have challenges, if not legitimate concerns about offering across the board discounts on every sale, this is why we let the retailers determine what incentive or reward they can offer in exchange for the free marketing & promotion that the card itself brings.”

This flexibility and market research appears to be paying off.

“We are very excited by the positive reception we have received by nearly every retailer we have approached so far.” Explained Keith.

“There are no membership or advertising fees charged to the retailer, and because they can customize their own offers, there is virtually no risk to the business owner. We want to create a network that is more than just another coupon or daily deal. Our desire is to expand the NH economy through a merchant network that rewards conscientious shoppers for their commitment to keeping their spending local.” Elaborated Keith. To further expand on the impact of their business on local communities, Keith & Dennis have pledged to donate 10% of all card sale profits to non-profit organizations within the county of record for each version of the card that they sell.

“The Local Favor NH Savings Card will ultimately be honored by any participating retailer in the state, but there will be a unique version for each county. This will allow retailers to recognize shoppers from out of town while allowing Local Favor LLC to properly earmark charitable donations to specific regions of the state. The retail price of the card is $10.00 and it will be valid for at least a year from the date of purchase. Dennis pointed out; “we are proud to guarantee shoppers will save at least five times the purchase price or their card before it expires, or we promise to renew the card for a second year at no charge.”

Keith finishes up explaining, “We rolled this out in Cheshire County because we both went to school at Keene State and we know the region really well, but now that the idea has been vetted, we are very excited to expand the project throughout the entire state, one county at a time”.
