Russian-American Club Heading to Boston

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Rochester - On Sunday, January 22, members of the Russian-American Club will attend the Apollinaire Theater to experience an intimate staging of Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov. Chekhov’s tragicomic tale of love, loss, and inconvenient truths will be staged in 4 locations throughout the theater, with the audience moving with the action. The show will also feature the art of the Moscow artist Alexander Vetrov, whose colored etchings were recently presented at the New England Language Center’s International Gallery and were selected to bring a sense of authenticity of the Russian village to the rustic stage decorations of the show. The performance will be followed by a Reception with the actors in the Gallery.

The Seacoast-based Russian-American Club provides an opportunity for Russian-American couples, families with children adopted from Russia, and anyone interested in Russian culture, language and travel to meet, socialized, share common experiences, and have fun. For more information about the theater tour or other activities of the Russian-American Club, contact Marina Forbes at (603) 332-2255 or by e-mail at marina@anylanguage.org. There are no club dues.
