NH Institute of Art Hosts Printmaking: Prominent Printmakers Exhibit 1/26 – 2/23
Wednesday, January 25, 2012
MANCHESTER, NH – The New Hampshire Institute of Art will host the Printmaking: Prominent Printmakers Exhibition January 26 – February 23 in its French Building Gallery.
This exhibition showcases the work of thirteen artists who freely wear the title of “printmaker.” Why does someone choose to express themselves through printmaking; an indirect, process-oriented medium? What is special about the monoprinted field, the etched line or the grain of wood and how does the use of these materials to make art enhance meaning? This exhibition will attempt to answer these questions through the examination of a small body of work by thirteen artists.
The Institute will host its opening reception celebrating the work of the 13 participating printmakers on Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 5 - 6:30 pm.
Information regarding the exhibit is available online at www.nhia.edu or contact Gallery Director Andrew Lucas at alucas@nhia.edu or 603-836-2573
