Papermill Theatre’s Annual Auction on Feb. 11th
Tuesday, February 7, 2012
An Aruba vacation, tickets to a Red Sox game and a golf club membership are all up for grabs at the North Country Center for the Arts’ annual winter auction, beginning at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 11 at the Governor’s Lodge at Loon Mountain. The red carpet rolls out on this annual fundraiser, which, this year, will benefit NCCA productions at Jean’s Playhouse, the new home of the Papermill Theatre, which will open later this spring. Beginning with a cocktail hour, followed by a buffet dinner and continuing with a live and silent auction, the evening will feature the theme, “A Night on Broadway,” and guests are welcome to dress up as their favorite Broadway star. Bids can be made on numerous items, including a one-week stay at a Tierra del Sol home in Aruba; Boston Red Sox tickets; vacations to Las Vegas and Orlando; a one- night escape with breakfast at the W Hotel in Boston; a one year membership to the Jack O’Lantern Golf Course and Resort; two tickets to the opening night Gala at Jean’s Playhouse; custom-made jewelry, dinners, massages, hairstyling and other services. The 2012 calendar of events for Jean’s Playhouse will also be announced this night. Since 1986, the North Country Center for the Arts has been dedicated to bringing cultural events to the western White Mountains and for many years, the Papermill Theatre made its home in the former Machine Room #1, a relic of Lincoln’s mill era. Over the past three years, the campaign for Jean’s Playhouse has raised over $2 million to build a year-round theatre for the 21st century. It is named for the late Jean Hallager, a longtime supporter of the arts in the region. “We’re nearly finished the construction and we are planning to open for the season by the end of June,” said Brian Baker, president of the board of trustees. “Our fundraising efforts are continuing, which will help us in this final home stretch be ready for a new theatre and a new season when the curtain rises.” Tickets for the annual winter auction at $30 per person in advance and $40 per person at the door. Table reservations are available. To make reservations, to purchase a ticket or for more information, contact Chris Bolan or Cheryl Brusseau at 603-745-6032 or online at www.PapermillTheatre.org.
