CONTOOCOOK RIVERWAY ASSOCIATION APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT
Contoocook, NH 03229 - April 24, 2012
The Contoocook Riverway Association (CRA), a non-profit organization that oversees the restoration and maintenance projects of the Contoocook Railroad Depot and property, held this years annual meeting on April 10, 2012. The Board of Directors voted and appointed Steve Lux, Jr., of Hopkinton, NH, President of the Board and the organization.
Steve was born and raised in Hopkinton, NH, and joined the CRA in the fall of 2010. He has lived and worked in New Hampshire most of his life, also spending a short time in Las Vegas, NV. Steve moved back to Hopkinton in 2011 and has been appointed President of the organization. Steve hopes to bring “new life” to the organization by introducing a more active environment to the depot museum and complete the renovation project of the second floor of the building this year. Other projects include the restoration of the Pullman Coach that rests on the property, as well as create new displays in the museum for educational purposes.
The Contoocook Riverway Association was formed in 1999 and purchased the Contoocook Railroad Depot and property from the town of Hopkinton shortly thereafter. Since that time, the CRA has raised funds and received grant money to restore the depot to its 1900’s structure. The CRA meets monthly and contains ten members of the Board of Directors.
