There from Here: FREE! CD

Once upon a time you really couldn't get there from here. If "there" was success in the music business, you had to move to L.A. or at least hang out in the Boston scene. But with the formula — heck, the very definition — for success getting lost in the mix, "here" is as good a place as any to take your stand.
Here are 12 artists, who aren't exactly household names but who we think could be. It's an eclectic bunch ranging from country to
alternative to blues. The main things they have in common is New Hampshire roots and sky's-the-limit talent.
We've selected one song from each from their most recent CDs and compiled them into the kind of album that we'd like to have along for the ride on a trip to just about anywhere. You can download your own copy or just listen online.
Consider it an early Christmas present.
This "virtual CD" can be yours with nothing more than a blank disc and a few clicks of the mouse. You are welcome to pick and choose and select individual tracks from those below but we recommend you download the whole batch for your listening pleasure.
You can also download a PDF with the cover and liner notes, suitable to slip into an empty jewel case to make the package complete.

Kyle Carey
Monongah America is no longer young, but it's not ancient, either. In this enchanting song cycle, Carey draws a cry from the collective roots of our nation and seems to span millennia with potent words and a uniquely tender voice.

The Connection
Little Lies
Irrepressible pop stylings by a rat pack of Seacoast musical luminaries. This album is a time trip aboard a Vox amp to an era where the music was still bubbling fresh and clean from the creative well.

Everyman
Arguably New Hampshire's
preeminent singer-songwriter (his band Truffle just celebrated their 25th) Gerard's solo work is full of memorable tunes and lyrics as

Martin England
Do What the Man with the Gun Says
England, singer/songwriter of the pioneering Portsmouth band Pondering Judd among others, has lots to say musically. His website says
"Ray Lamontagne meets Johnny Cash." That's a pretty good summary for this compelling artist who's hard to categorize.

Mike Morris
Learning to Fly
Mike Morris Music makes music that's fun and funky and lyrically ambitious. Morris has a percussive guitar style that shows off his reedy and expressive vocals and blends
well with the coterie of talented musicians he's attracted to this project.
